A Systems Analyst

1. In your opinion, should a systems analyst be technical? Why or why not?
In my opinion, a Systems Analyst doesn't necessarily need to be technical but he should know about the technical stuff so that he could relate well with the technical people with regards to the technical specifications of the systems.
2. What do you think is the unique edge/asset of a Systems Analyst against other I.T and non I.T roles/skills? Elaborate.
I think the unique asset of a Systems Analyst against other IT and non IT roles is that a Systems Analyst knows business stuff as well as programming stuff. A System Analyst serves as a bridge between businessmen and programmers.
3. What are your thoughts on diff. systems being specific to diff. groups on the organizational pyramid? Why is this the case? i.e Why can't Executives use TPS?
Each group on the organizational pyramid has their respective systems because that is the only system they need in their group. For example, Executives can not use the Transaction Processing System because it involves different operations such as payroll and cash management. Their group only involves forecasting and planning so they should use the Executive Support System.
4. What are your thoughts on Waterfall VS Agile? Which is better over the other? In what kind of project or products does each one work best?
I believe Agile is much better to use than Waterfall because it is flexible, highly collaborative, involves customers and continuously improving. Waterfall works best in systems like payrolls and Agile works best in systems like online enrollments.

5. What makes a great interview? What makes a great interviewer? Share your thoughts.
For an interview to be a great one, you must have a background on your interviewee. If you have some background, you can relate well with him/her. You must also be punctual, thoughtful, passionate, and properly dressed for the interview. A great interviewer makes the interviewee feel comfortable to talk with him/her. A great interviewer shows his/her interviewee that he/she is very interested in what he/she has to share.
