FOUNDER INTERVIEW

3 Lessons from the interview:

1. It's better to have a few people love you than a million people kinda like you.
You should not be super focused on growth. I think in every start of a business, you need to grow or you die but you should not have that kind of mindset. A customer-driver approach is much better than  top-down approach.
2. Don't focus on being bigger. Focus on being better.
Apple didn't spend a lot of money getting people into the Apple store. They spent money when you're in the Apple store on the experience and if you just love the experience, it's actually super simple. Like you just focus on making an amazing product. Once you have enough people, they will do the market for you.
3. Continue to be more and more hands on.
We have this idea that the office is a laboratory and meeting your users is like going into the field. And you can't be only looking at data and only and staying in the lab. You also have to go to the field and meeting your customers.

A Systems Analyst

1. In your opinion, should a systems analyst be technical? Why or why not?
In my opinion, a Systems Analyst doesn't necessarily need to be technical but he should know about the technical stuff so that he could relate well with the technical people with regards to the technical specifications of the systems.
2. What do you think is the unique edge/asset of a Systems Analyst against other I.T and non I.T roles/skills? Elaborate.
I think the unique asset of a Systems Analyst against other IT and non IT roles is that a Systems Analyst knows business stuff as well as programming stuff. A System Analyst serves as a bridge between businessmen and programmers.
3. What are your thoughts on diff. systems being specific to diff. groups on the organizational pyramid? Why is this the case? i.e Why can't Executives use TPS?
Each group on the organizational pyramid has their respective systems because that is the only system they need in their group. For example, Executives can not use the Transaction Processing System because it involves different operations such as payroll and cash management. Their group only involves forecasting and planning so they should use the Executive Support System.
4. What are your thoughts on Waterfall VS Agile? Which is better over the other? In what kind of project or products does each one work best?
I believe Agile is much better to use than Waterfall because it is flexible, highly collaborative, involves customers and continuously improving. Waterfall works best in systems like payrolls and Agile works best in systems like online enrollments.

5. What makes a great interview? What makes a great interviewer? Share your thoughts.
For an interview to be a great one, you must have a background on your interviewee. If you have some background, you can relate well with him/her. You must also be punctual, thoughtful, passionate, and properly dressed for the interview. A great interviewer makes the interviewee feel comfortable to talk with him/her. A great interviewer shows his/her interviewee that he/she is very interested in what he/she has to share.

Analysis of a website - NBA.com

NBA.com is the official website of the National Basketball Association. It has real time game stats, action-packed game photos, player blogs, and discussion forums, the league's official Web site which puts fans in the center of all the court action. Up-close coverage includes an extensive photo gallery and NBAtv's behind-the-scenes glimpse into the sport. Fans can vote for All-Star players, shop for official NBA gear, post comments in the team-specific forums, and read blogs from players and staff.

While the site isn't aimed at kids, it doesn't exclude them, and offers much to learn and do. You get 360-degree coverage of every slam dunk, rebound and foul, plus game results and team analysis. Watch out for the site's promo-heavy content, though -- nearly every department has a product plug in its title.

NBA.com is a very convenient website to use for us NBA fans. If we can't watch the game live on television or on the internet, as long as we have an internet connection, we can still know what's happening during the game thanks to the real time game stats and play-by-play features of the website or if we need assistance in understanding what's happening in the game, they have this feature called TV companion. Everything you need or want to see can be located here, all in one website.
